Paralyzed 16-year-old is willing to do whatever it takes to walk, race

Michael Johnson, badly injured, tried to raise himself off the ground following an accident at Hiawatha Horse Park in Sarnia. It was Aug. 13, 2005, and Michael, then 12, had crashed through the track's fence during a dirt-bike event at the Ontario complex, about an hour's drive from Detroit.
Michael, from Mt. Morris, veered off the track when his 250cc motorcycle caught a rut and he lost control. He plowed through hay bales and crashed through a railing -- the impact sending him over the handlebars and bouncing along the dirt.

Sixteen year old Michael Johnson’s passion is racing. More specifically: racing dirt bikes. By age 12, the Mount Morris resident had won 14 national championships on his dirt bike. Then disaster put his motor bike dreams on hold.
