Phosphating
Universal Coating has both rack and barrel phosphating capabilities which allows us to handle small and large parts, and low- to high-volume jobs easily. We offer various types of phosphate coatings, including iron and zinc. Phosphates provide both corrosion resistance and lubricity. Iron phosphates serve as a base for further coatings or painting and zinc phosphates add corrosion resistance, lubricity and function as a base coat.
Phosphating Processes
Some of the phosphate coatings we use include:
- Iron phosphating: 10 – 100 mg/sq.-ft.
- Microcrystalline, calcium-modified zinc phosphate: 100 – 300 mg/sq.-ft.
- Macrocrystalline, zinc phosphate: 1,000 – 3,000 mg/sq.-ft.
- Etching and passivating
- Conversion coating treatments for aluminum
Additional Savings Available
Instead of investing in and operating an in-house coating department, consider having Universal Coating apply the final paint, powder, lubricant or adhesive coating to your products. You’ll save time and money.
